No costume will be started, including the ordering of materials until the deposit is paid in full. No costume will be shipped or delivered until the total balance is paid in full.
After the final design is completed I will be asking you for your dancer’s measurements. If you are not comfortable taking your dancer’s measurements on their own I will be more than willing to set up a time with you in person- or a ZOOM and/or FaceTime call to help make sure you are taking measurements accurately.
The costume will be made to the exact measurements given. If you are wanting to add room for growth I will specifically ask you how much you are wanting added and to where you would like it added. I am not responsible for a costume not fitting if the measurements are too big for your child.
The design process will start once the deposit is paid in full. No spot is considered reserved until the deposit is paid in full. All costumes are completed on a first come- first serve basis. The earlier the deposit is paid and design is completed- the earlier you are on the reservation list.
If you have inspiration photos send them in the e-mail with this form. I will not make exact replicas of other designers' work. If you would like an exact replica please reach out to that designer.
After inspiration photos and ideas are given you will be given a sketch of the costume. At this point it is important that you express any concerns about the costume. During this phase it is perfectly acceptable for us to make many changes! It is meant to be fun and to make sure we are both on the same page before the construction process is started. If concerns are not expressed before the costume construction has started additional fees will be added.
Turnaround times can vary depending on the time of year and where you are on the reservation list after your deposit has been paid. It is imperative that you pay your deposit and finalize your design early to make sure you are able to get your costume completed in time.
Please list a realistic date for your deadline date. If you are doing the embellishments and/or rhinestoning on your own make sure you are giving yourself adequate time. I suggest your deadline to be no later than three to four weeks before the date you need your costume for the first time. This will allow for changes to be made if necessary.
If your costume(s) cannot be completed by the deadline date given you will receive notice from no later than 14 days before your deadline date. If your costume is not able to be completed by your deadline date you will be given your full deposit refunded by me.
I understand that sometimes you may need your costumes before the original deadline date given. I cannot always accommodate this request. If I am able to accommodate this request there will be an extra $100 rush fee added to the final cost of the costume.
Every costume will be given one free alteration appointment if needed. After that, the alterations will be charged at an hourly fee of $40 plus supply cost. I will not do major alterations on costumes that are not completed by PIPER Custom Costumes.
